“I paint outside because unexpected things happen. I begin with a strong idea of light and composition, but weather and life are always in motion, and my painting often evolves with the changes occurring around me. My aim is to create paintings that evoke a place or moment in time, showcase the beauty of the medium, the textures and vibrations of pigment, and find new perspectives of ordinary subjects.” - Alison Barry

Alison Barry is an oil painter dedicated to painting directly from life, still life and landscape. She paints in all seasons and weather, by the farms, rivers and bay around her Southern Maryland home. She has participated in numerous exhibitions and plein air events for more than a decade of being a professional painter.
