June Book Club: The Masterpiece
Join us at our June book club to discuss Fiona Davis’s 2018 novel, The Masterpiece. In this brilliant piece of historical fiction, two women grapple with their place in the world, set against the backdrop of Grand Central Terminal. In 1928, Clara Darden is a teacher at the glamourous Grand Central School of Art, working to make her mark as a female artist. Decades later, in the 1970s, Virginia Clay works at the information booth at Grand Central, which has fallen into decline and is at risk of being demolished. When Virginia comes across the abandoned art school, her life is changed as she is drawn into the mysteries of Grand Central’s past and the fight for its future.
