Art inspired by dreams
We all dream—sometimes of magical places we wish we could stay in forever, and sometimes of strange or unsettling scenes that linger in the morning light. This show brings those dream worlds to canvas: the beautiful, the curious, and even the slightly spooky. Step inside and explore how artists transform the mystery of dreams into art.
Our guest Artist this month, Deborah Harkins, shares her background, influences, and art style, including her heritage and passion for beadwork and photography. “A lot of my influence was from my Mother, now in heaven, and my sister, Sandra. She and I compared ideas for different styles and colors schemes. I run ideas through her that I like. I make Jewelry, do fused and stained glass, and love taking pictures of animals and plants.”
Deborah is a member of the Calvert Artists Guild. She participates in art shows and opening receptions and also does commissioned pieces. For her jewelry, she mostly makes bracelets in an assortment of styles and colors. Her fused glass pieces are primarily dishes and platters as functional art. She has now taken back up photography, one of her hobbies from way back, and has won a couple of first place ribbons in the Calvert Artist's Guild May shows.

You will often see members of Artworks@7th supporting local charities and organizations by participating in art shows, teaching workshops, and donating items for fundraisers.
