Exhibition - Eric Anthony Berdis: Bugs that Crawl, Flowers That Bloom

Eric Anthony Berdis is an artist and educator from Erie, Pennsylvania, whose practice celebrates do-it-yourself collectivity and play—personally and for students. 

Berdis has received honors from the Amos Lemon Burkhart Foundation, the Lydia McCain Artist Fellowship, and the DayGlo Color Corp Fund. 

Berdis has shown artwork at Amos Eno Gallery, Iridian Gallery, Stay Home Gallery, Erie Art Museum, and Philadelphia Museum of Art, and has held residencies at Waterloo Arts, Bunker Projects, and the Inner-City Neighborhood Art House. The artist’s work has been published in Teaching Artist Podcast, Emergency INDEX annual performance publication, and New American Paintings. 

With a BFA from Slippery Rock University, a post-baccalaureate degree from Tyler School of Art’s Fibers and Material Studies Program, an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University, and an MEd in Early Childhood Education from PennWest Edinboro University, Berdis is currently pursuing a Ph.D in Art Education at Penn State University. 

Visitors to the Studio M exhibition can also view Stark County Artists Exhibition, Saving Face: Salvaged Negatives of Henry Clay Fleming, Artwork by Members of the Boys and Girls Club of Massillon, Titles and Claims: Cultivating a Championship Program, the Paul Brown/Massillonn Tiger Football History Timeline, Small but Mighty: Big Personalities in Local Circus History along with the Immel Circus diorama, Innovators of Massillon, and the Local History and Fine and Decorative Arts galleries. The Museum shop, OHregionalities, and a Sensory Room are open during regular Museum hours. The TWiLite Café in the lobby is open for breakfast and lunch.
