The Desert Pipes were part of the Central Arizona Project (CAP), a series of canals built starting in the 1970s to bring water from the Colorado River across the state. The giant cement pipes that were designed for moving water underground became one of the most epic skateboarding environments to ever exist in Arizona. This photo exhibit by Steve Pingleton captures this special time and place in skateboarding history.
